Teresa M. O’Connor

Teresa M. O’Connor

September 19, 1951 – January 2, 2020

She was preceded in death by her sister, Rose Cherek; and parents, Angie and Tony Constantini. She is survived by her daughter, Gina M. Hunter (Roy “Jamie”); son, John Scott Gaeta; grandchildren, Joseph, Vincent and Leah; sister, Antonina Caterinichio (Joseph); and brother-in-law, Mark Cherek; stepchildren, Jim O’connor and Sherry Quinn (Greg); cousins, nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends Tuesday, January 7th from 10am to 11am, at the West Center Chapel followed by a FUNERAL SERVICE at 11am.

Teresa worked for Baker’s supermarket as a meat wrapper for 25 years. She retired and started a new career at Hyatt hotels and reservation center in Omaha, Nebraska working in the customer service and sales division. She was employed there for another 15 years when she again retired, and went to work for Costco on Dodge Street in Omaha, opening up their member services division where she worked another 10 plus years. She loved being with her family, holidays and especially all of her customers that she got to know over the years from Costco. She was always the light of the party and could put together any event, last minute or otherwise.

She passed away very peacefully in her home surrounded by everyone she loved. She fought very hard to stay on this Earth with us but eventually she was called home to be with her sister, Rose; her mother, Angeline, and her cousin, Linda. May she rest in peace. She will be forever missed but always in our memories and our hearts.

I am so sorry for your loss. She was a great lady and a dear friend when I worked at Costco in Omaha. I even convinced her to go to an Eagles concert with me. She had a blast! I will miss her pure heart!

    To Teresa’s family,
I had the pleasure to be a friend of your mothers through working at Costco. When we first met, we realized we knew many of the same people here in Omaha & we were friends from day one. She was a unique and wonderful woman. Full of vigor and laughter and truly a special lady. She was tough & fought hard for her health for so many years. It was my honor to know her & call her a friend. Sending my deepest condolences to all of you. This is a huge loss to so many.

I am so sorry to hear about Teresa. She had a great wit and was a great lady. I worked with her at Hyatt years ago but she was one of those people you never forget. Prayers for her and her family.

Mama T was always the light, she fought everything I said but at the end of the day she still came to say how much she cared for me. There is always a place that remains in my heart for her. I can’t even say in words how much love I have for her- she was someone I looked to when I felt sad- and when I was happy, we celebrated. I will never forget her sprite or her words, her stories- and everything she said. I’ll miss her every day of my life.
