Teresa Mae “Terri” Forsgren

Teresa Mae “Terri” Forsgren

July 7, 1954 – October 26, 2021

Born July 7, 1954, in North Platte, Nebraska, Teresa was the second of four children to her loving parents, Leon and Tess (Kennedy) Forsgren.  She shared her birthday with her grandmother, Teresa Kennedy, and her uncle, Vess Kennedy.  In 1959 the family moved to Omaha, Nebraska, where she spent the rest of her life.  Growing up, Teresa enjoyed time at the neighborhood pool, piano lessons and visiting her Grandma and Grandpa Forsgren’s farm in Pisgah, Iowa on the weekends.  During high school she was a Red Cross Candy Striper.

After graduating in 1973 from Westside High School, Teresa went to work for Mutual of Omaha.  She had an apartment near Mutual that she shared with her beloved cat, Ricki.  At age 27, she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.  She continued working at Mutual until taking disability and soon after entered a care facility.  Over the years, Teresa kept busy in her care facility by being an avid reader, assembled an untold number of puzzles, developed ceramic skills, and played and assisted with Bingo.  She loved telling tall tales with her Liars Club and played cards with her Kings Corner group.  She would really light up when her nieces or nephews paid a visit.  On Tuesday. October 26, 2021, Teresa made her final journey to meet the Lord.

Teresa was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her sister, Mary K. Anderson (Mickey); brothers, Larry Forsgren (Peggy) and Bob Forsgren (Kathleen); nieces: Shannon Snow, Danielle Forsgren (fiancé Dave Sund) and Meghan Forsgren; nephews: Patrick Forsgren, Brett Wagner  (Wendy) and Beau Wagner; grand-niece, Kaelynn Wagner.

Thinking of you all during this time.

    Mary Kay, Larry and Rob

Bette and I were saddened to learn of Teresa’s death. And yet with the sadness there is some joy in remembering her life. I particularly recall her as a young girl when my family would visit your family in North Platte. Teresa’s smile and laugh were genuine and uplifting. She was such a happy person. She retained that happiness as she grew even with the health difficulties she encountered.
We remember her and celebrate her life in our memories.
