Terry Kenneth Wahl

March 2, 1942 – April 15, 2019

Terry Kenneth Wahl, age 77, passed away peacefully at Bethany Lutheran Home in Council Bluffs Iowa on Monday, April 15, 2019.  He was born on March 2, 1942 in Huron, South Dakota to Kenneth and Olive Wahl. His father served in WWII and died in action. Olive remarried Wendell Tapken who then raised Terry and his two sisters.

Terry spent most of his childhood on a farm near Lane, South Dakota. He played basketball and baseball in high school and grew to love sports.  He became a life-long Cleveland Indians fan.

Terry went on to graduate from South Dakota State University and spent the majority of his professional life as a sales manager at Lever Brothers. Terry’s special interests included fishing, hunting, collecting old cars, and music.  He loved telling jokes and will be remembered for his sense of humor.

He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Wahl; his mother and step father, Olive and Wendell Tapken.  He is survived by his two sisters, Margo Sprenger (Lee) and Nancy Ogstad (Richard); his three children: TJ Wahl (Joanna), Chris Glenn (James), and Tony Wahl (Pam); seven grandchildren; and one niece.

Family will receive friends on Saturday, May 4th from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the West Center Chapel, 7805 W. Center Rd.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s research: www.michaeljfox.org
