Theresa K. Zabawa

ZABAWA, Theresa K. “Peg” Oct 13, 1932 – Aug 19, 2012 Peg passed away peacefully after a brief illness. Peg was born in Omaha to Frank and Helen Kamloth and attended St. John’s High School. A devoted wife to her husband and loving mother to eight children, she spent her life in the service and care of others. Peg spent many years volunteering for various causes, including the schools her children attended: St. Margaret Mary, Duchesne, Marian and Creighton Prep. She was also a long-term board member of the Archdiocesan Campaign for Human Development and Emergency Pregnancy Services. A talented and self-taught seamstress, she stylishly outfitted many bridesmaids through her business, House of Threads. Peg was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Bette Moran and Mary Helen Ward; and her beloved husband of 58 years, Robert “Bob” Zabawa. She is survived by her eight children and their spouses: Mary Lynn and Guy Oberg, II, Stephen and Susan Sullivan-Zabawa, Timothy Zabawa and Darlene Colone-Zabawa, Susan and Dallas Powell, David Zabawa, Michael and Paula Zabawa, Christi and Jeff Krist, and Kathleen and Michael Nelson; by her twenty-one grandchildren, and her three great-grandchildren; and by her many nieces and nephews. VISITATION begins Thursday, 5pm with WAKE SERVICE to follow at 7pm at the West Center Chapel. SERVICES Friday, 10am, West Center Chapel to St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church for MASS at 10:30am. Internment, St. Mary Magdalene Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family.
