Thomas Warren Adam, Sr.

Thomas Warren Adam, Sr.

November 17, 1943 – March 20, 2025

Tom was born in Omaha, Nebraska to Ruby (Taylor) & Charles Adam, lived in Plattsmouth, NE and moved to Omaha.

He was the youngest of six children: Betty, Jean, Chuck, Jim and Rose Marie.

Tom enjoyed hanging out with family and friends and he has a lot of both! His warm laugh, his social personality, and his charm made him welcome in almost any group.  In addition, Tom enjoyed fishing, working on cars, and weightlifting. He was a competitive weightlifter and attended Tech High School in Omaha, where he received his diploma.

He married Sharon Christen at a young age, and they had three children: Laura (Mark) Walls of La Vista, NE, Deborah (Michael) Early of San Diego, CA and Thomas (Stephanie Garcia) Adam, Jr., of Omaha, NE.

Tom married Leslie Foster in 1975. They had two daughters: Tanya Linear and Nicole (Mike) Avila. Tom and Leslie have been married for 50 years.

A few years ago, Tom discovered he had another daughter, Rachelle Milner (Kevin), of Las Vegas, NV.

As a young man, Tom worked as a meatcutter for several grocery stores in the Omaha area and as bouncer at some of the local night clubs. He also owned and operated several convenience stores in Papillion and the Westmont area, including two called Adam’s Gas & Groceries. He later returned to meat cutting, working for Walmart until he retired.

Health and fitness were always important to Tom. He remained in good shape throughout his life and often told the story of his wrestling a bear in a contest at a local auto dealer. He admits the bear won, but not by much.

His passion for cars continued throughout his life too. He restored many cars including his prized 1955 Chevy 210 hard top.

Tom leaves behind brother Jim and sister Rose Marie, all 16 of his grandchildren Natalie, Rachel, Grace, Shane, Hunter, Austin, Tavares, Trajen, Tanesha, Luq, Kyler, Lance, Logan, Meghan, Lucas and Hope; and 12 great grandchildren, Meredith, Conrad, Easton, Bentley, Oliver, Colby, Emma, McKayla, Masey, Carter, Aushia and Tamzin; not to mention cousins, nieces and nephews including niece Jamee (Clayton) Yanchunas-Cooper.

Funeral: Friday, March 28th, 11am at West Center Chapel with visitation starting at 10am.

Private Interment: St. John’s Cemetery.

Tom was like a second Dad to me growing up since I was 6. I will never forget all the memories we had & especially of going to his gas station to make fresh sandwiches, then to the lake to swim & fish. He will be missed dearly. Praying for comfort & peace for all of his children, grandchildren & Leslie.

Sorry to hear about my uncle. I didn’t know him well! One thing I remember like it was yesterday. On my 13th birthday my uncle sent me from Nebraska to California a box. It contained like 20 playboy books and a log of Skoal! Best present ever. He was bigger than life to a little boy! Amen
    Love y’all.

I will miss you for the remainder of my life. You were my first best buddy. I’ll always remember our spur of the moment trips, especially the one to Denver. I’ll always remember the fish I had on my line when it spun the jon boat around in a circle and you hollering at me to cut the line cuz it must be Moby Dick. Our fishing trips far and wide, and helping you restore your cars.Barhopping and casinos with you and my first and unforgettable time you let me ride the mini bike you brought home that drug me down the alley behind Grandpa and Grandma’s property.
I look forward to seeing you and everyone I love when I come to heaven when it’s my time.
Thank you for giving me such wonderful cousins to love, bond and hang out with.
I wish I could be there to say goodbye and to be there for my Aunt Leslie and cousins.
Cousins and Leslie my love and prayers will forever be with y’all.
