Timothy F. Suey

Timothy F. Suey

June 11, 1944 – September 17, 2023

Timothy F. Suey, 79, was born on June 11,1944, in Omaha, Nebraska. He passed away September 17, 2023, in Omaha. Tim grew up on the family farm in Gretna, Nebraska, with four older brothers and two younger sisters. He graduated from Gretna High School in 1962.

Tim met the love of his life, Patricia Bock, in 1962. They were married in 1964. In 1967, he joined the Nebraska State Patrol and was stationed in Albion, Nebraska. It was in Albion that they raised their three children. Tim held many jobs during their 30 years in Albion, including State Patrol, owner of Albion Garbage Disposal, Mechanic, Albion Chief of Police, Dairy Farmer, and Truck Driver for several companies. He even achieved his certification to fly a solo plane!  In 1993, Tim and Pat moved back to Omaha to be closer to family. He retired from trucking in 2010.

Tim delighted in tinkering around his garage and was known to be able to fix anything from tractors and cars to his grandkids broken toys. He adored touring around the country on his motorcycle. He and Pat took many trips with his brother, Roger and his wife Nancy, as well as an “Across Nebraska Cruise” with his daughter, Kristine. Tim also favored riding with the family motorcycle club “The Red-Eyed Riders.” He loved spending time at their cabin in Ericson, NE, with the grandchildren, fishing, floating, riding around in golf carts, and ending the day by the fire pit.

Tim had sparkling blue eyes and an infectious smile. He was a caring man who would help anyone in need. He had a quick wit and was known to be a little ornery as well. He was a perfectionist to a fault when working on projects; which drove his kids crazy, as he always did things the hard way, which he called the “right way.” Tim enjoyed gardening in the summer and coloring with gel pens in the winter. He always needed something to keep him busy. He loved to dance and could carry on a conversation with anyone on any topic.

His favorite thing to do was simply be with his family. He loved watching his grandchildren and great-grandchild with all their activities. He was a kind man of strength and character.

Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Pauline; brothers: Jerry, Dennis, and Walt. He is survived by his wife,  Patricia Suey; children: Todd (Kim) Suey, Kristine (Brian) Rubeck and Lisa Haug; 7 grandchildren: Kyla Jerousek, Ashley (Dan) Jordan, Teagan Suey, Keaton (Carmen) Suey, Mason Suey, Carter Haug, Parker Haug; great-grandchild, Oliver Jordan; brother, Roger (Nancy) Suey; sisters, Maryanne (Byron) Klonker and Linda (Steve) Mylander; many nieces and nephews.
