Timothy J. Mickells

Timothy J. Mickells

April 3, 1974 – June 7, 2025

Tim was the youngest of six children born to George and Sally Mickells. He grew up in Omaha and graduated from St. Bernadette Grade School and Gross Catholic High School in 1992. He went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in business from Doane University.

In 1999, Tim married Kris Kohler, and together they raised three wonderful children: Presleigh, Ryder, and Piper. His kids were the light of his life, and he was endlessly proud of them. He often said they got their good looks and intelligence from their mom—and their competitiveness from him.

A talented athlete, Tim was a decorated high school wrestler, qualifying for state all four years and finishing as a runner-up his senior year. He later built a successful career in the medical and food industries, known for his energy, quick wit, and ability to build lasting relationships.

Tim loved Husker football, attending the NCAA Wrestling Championships, and a great round of golf. But more than anything, he loved time with his family and friends. He had a big heart, a generous spirit, and an unforgettable presence.

Though Tim faced personal struggles, his life was filled with deep love, meaningful connections, and moments that will be remembered forever.

Preceded in death by mother, Sally, infant brother, George.

Survived by children, Presleigh, Ryder, and Piper Mickells and their mother, Kris; father, George Mickells; sisters and brothers, Sue (Dave) Hebda, Tom (Maureen), Doug (Kris), Dan (Tiffany), Amy (Robb) Huck; many nieces, nephews, loving family members, and friends.

I’m so sorry to hear this. Tim could make anyone laugh and smile. I remember him driving past my house blasting the Husker fight song. He will be missed.

I worked with Tim for a short time, but he kept in touch for years afterwards. He was a selfless man who loved getting to know people. I will miss our conversations!
