Timothy L. Kohlmeyer

KOHLMEYER, Timothy L. May 24, 1953 – Dec 25, 2013 Tim was raised by farming parents, Ted and Vi, in Fairbury, Nebraska. Tim’s parents instilled in him principles that would shape his entire life and to which he could contribute his many successes. Tim’s life was best exemplified by his relentless work ethic and tireless pursuit of perfection. Whether it was a nationwide musical tour or hanging Christmas lights, no job was ever complete until it was perfect. Tim was also the pinnacle of professionalism and integrity. Anyone who ever conducted business with Tim knew that his word was his bond and he would go to the ends of the earth to deliver on his promises. Tim’s incredible character allowed him to cultivate life-long personal and professional relationships. Tim’s passion extended well beyond his professional life. He treasured working outdoors, Husker football, skiing, spending time with his family and friends, and his faith. Although Tim was a stoic presence and the picture of stability, he never failed to tear up during the national anthem or while watching favorite holiday movies with his family. In his last days, Tim described the three things one needs in life: faith, family, and humor. His wife reminded him that a hot wife also helps, to which he responded, “See, you’re part of the humor.” Tim is survived by his wife, Debi, and children, Nick and Katy. The family will receive friends and family Sunday evening, December 29th from 6pm to 8pm at the West Center Chapel. Tim’s funeral service will be held Monday morning, December 30th at 9am at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 36712 Church Road in Louisville, Nebraska. Tim will be laid to rest at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Louisville. Please direct memorials to Immanuel Lutheran Church or American Cancer Society.
