Timothy Lee Thompson, age 55, of Omaha, Nebraska, passed away February 19, 2022.  Tim was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa on July 31, 1966.  He graduated from Lewis Central High School in 1984, began his collegiate career at the University of Iowa, and completed his degree in Marketing Management from Bellevue University in 1996.  Tim found success in his career at a variety of different companies.  American Enterprise and Corporate 3 Design provided Tim a solid foundation of networking and creativity that ultimately, brought him to his dream job as the Director of Marketing and Communications at Think Whole Person Healthcare.

While Tim’s career provided many opportunities for growth and fulfillment, he was also extremely active in recovery programs and mentorship through the ManKind Project.  His work with MKP and recovery programs provided a greater purpose for him, and lifelong friendships.

In September 2012, Tim met his future husband, Adam.  Soon after, Adam moved in, and the two created a home filled with their growing love and commitment to one another.  Adam proposed on Tim’s 50th birthday, much to Tim’s surprise, and they were married the following August.  The happy couple spent the next three years in their house on 52nd Street saving every penny so they could buy their “forever” home.  Last October they moved into their “forever” home, and Tim got right to work.  His creativity and drive to make their house a home shines through in every detail.

Tim is survived by his husband, Adam Preister; parents, Chuck and Sharry Thompson; brothers, Troy Thompson (Amy), Todd Thompson (Jennifer), father-in-law, Rick Preister (Rhonda); sister-in-law, Amy Preister (Nick Kerwin); many nieces, nephews, and cousins.  He was preceded in death by grandparents, Fred and Grace Owen, Levi and Margaret Thompson; mother-in-law, Sandy Preister.

I owe much of who I am today to Tim’s love and kindness. I met him decades ago. One of the things he did for me was to help me find peace in being the man I am. Showing up powerfully and claiming it. I had written his name down a few days before his passing to call him. I wish I would have called him that day. But time got away from me. Adam, I am here for you, friend. Much love and healing to all.

  • Jenni Posted February 28, 2022 7:48 am

I had the pleasure of working with Tim at Think. I have never seen a marketing professional actually work their job in such a strategic and professional way – not only did he help our company, he gave me a new appreciation for the strategy and skill of the profession. I watched the live stream of the funeral and was touched – what a beautiful tribute. So many were touched by his spirit. So sorry for your loss…
