Todd A. Culp

Todd A. Culp

July 10, 1961-June 10, 2025

Todd A. Culp of Omaha, Nebraska passed away on June 10, 2025, unexpectedly but peacefully, in his sleep at his home holding his wife’s hand after a valiant four-year battle with lymphoma.

Todd was born on July 10, 1961, in the idyllic small town of Fairbury, Nebraska as the youngest child of Russel and Doris (Kelch) Culp.  He was a quiet, active, precocious kid who saw every cheesy 1970’s TV show and movie ever made, loved rock music from the same era, and adored his mom’s chocolate cake and home cooking.  He grew up to be an intelligent, ironic, independent, and very tenacious (i.e. stubborn) young man who graduated from Fairbury High School in 1979.  He attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln earning a degree in Electrical Engineering in 1985 and then started a long career he greatly enjoyed with the Omaha Public Power District until his retirement in May of this year. He married his kindred spirit and love, Lisa A. Jensen, on December 3, 1988, and they had two sons and numerous Scotties and houses throughout their years together.

Todd loved a good strong coffee with cream, anything to do with history, reading about history and great historical figures, meteorology (never having met a storm cloud he didn’t want to watch), doing carpentry around the house, puttering in his yard and garden, collecting coins, working out and playing sports, having dogs, and most especially he loved his family.

Preceded in death by his parents, Todd is survived by wife, Lisa A. (Jensen) Culp of Omaha; sons: Zachary A. Culp and Gabriel T. Culp, both of Omaha; beloved and rambunctious Scottish Terriers, Loch and Keye of the home; sister, Cindy Buchmeier (Dennis) of Fairbury, Nebraska; sister, Lori Culp Devlin (Terry) of Colorado Springs, Colorado; brother, Lynn Culp of Fairbury, Nebraska; and too numerous to mention cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A celebration of Todd’s life will be held in one of his most favorite places, his hometown of Fairbury, Nebraska, at the Union Bank & Trust building, 1313 K Street, Fairbury, NE on Saturday, July 12, 2025, between 2:00 PM and 6:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given online in Todd’s name to the Hope Fund for Lymphoma and Leukemia Research at the UNMC Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center in Omaha, Nebraska at the following link https://nufoundation.org/fund/01100020/

I enjoyed playing softball with Todd as well as exchanging banter during work as he could actually provide humor as he provided something as mundane as fusing.
Great coworker who will be missed.

I 🙂 lived in the same apt. complex as Todd in 1985. He was interested in you, as a person. Thanks upstairs Todd. May his Family be comforted, knowing he is in Heaven.
