Todd R. Wackel
February 12, 1955 – January 1, 2025
Todd Wackel was called home on January 1, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in West Point, Ne, Todd spent his formative years in Fremont, Ne. This was where he forged lasting friendships with Dan, Kent, and Doug. Pastor Dan was a steadfast support in this life.
A true enthusiast of life, Todd had a particular passion for horse racing. He attended the Kentucky Derby and the Louisiana Derby three times each, as well as the Breeders cup once. He was a devoted fan of the Nebraska Cornhuskers, the Chicago Bears and the Kansas City Chiefs.
Todd attended Midland College, where he was fortunate to meet lifelong friends Mike, Charlie, and Walt. Their friendship remained strong throughout the years.
Professionally, Todd was a Mortgage Loan Officer for many years before rising to the position of Vice President at the bank. During this time, he built enduring friendships with colleagues, Diane, Brent, David, and Bob, who were always there for him.
Todd is survived by his beloved wife, Teresa, daughter, Amanda, nephew, Christian, granddaughter, Haley, sister, Ann, and a wide circle of caring and loyal friends.
He is preceded in death by his son, Matthew, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Tom and Joan Grizzard, and his parents, Bob and Carol Wackel.
A Celebration of Todd’s Life will be at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Todd’s favorite charity, the Nebraska Humane Society.

My prayers and love to Teresa and her daughter Amanda for great loss. May God watch over you and comfort you and give you peace.
I send our condolences to the family of my close and long time friend Todd.
Just heard that Todd passed away. So sorry to hear that. My wife and I met him when we bought a house in 2002. We refinanced a couple of times and Todd was always there. I also used to see him at lunch quite often. What a great guy. Much too young to pass away. Prayers to his family and friends.
