Valerian Robert Pleskac

April 6, 1943 – April 25, 2021

 Served in the U.S. Army and Army National Guard.  Preceded in death by parents, John Pleskac, Sr. and Marie Pleskac; brother, John Pleskac, Jr.  Survived by sister, Betty Barry; nieces and nephews.

He will be laid to rest at the Omaha National Cemetery on Friday, April 30th at 9am with Military Honors by the U.S. Army and Millard American Legion Post 374 and VFW Post 8334.

Valerian was born April 6, 1943 in Ulysses, Nebraska to John J.  and Marie R. (Sypal) Pleskac, Sr.  He grew up with his brother, John, Jr., and sister, Betty in David City, Nebraska and graduated from Assumption High School in 1961.

After working for several years, Valerian enlisted into the U.S. Army Reserve in February 1964, later being transferred to the Nebraska National Guard, completing his military obligation in March of 1970.

His working resume includes Western Electric in Omaha, Nebraska from 1961 through 1990 doing various factory jobs including assembly to laser welding.  After retiring from Western Electric, he was employed as a truck driver, from local delivery to over the road semi driver, for Carter Freightways, Brown Truck Lines and Yellow Truck Lines from 1991 through 2006. 

Being a man of the road, Valerian enjoyed motorcycle riding and was an avid keno player.

Preceded in death by parents, John Pleskac, Sr. and Marie Pleskac; brother, John Pleskac, Jr.  Survived by sister, Betty Barry; nieces and nephews.

He will be laid to rest at the Omaha National Cemetery on Friday, April 30th at 9am with Military Honors.
