Our loving mother, Valerie Denise Potthast, passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2024. Valerie was born on February 23, 1967 to Patricia and Lawrence Siruta.

She is survived by her husband, James; and children: Crescentia Rocha and her partner, Anthony Sutherland, Daniel (Brittany) Rocha, Brittney (Jarod) Petersen, and Michael Potthast and his fiance, Kayla Flege. She is also survived by her mother, Patricia Andrews, 11 grandchildren, and many other family and friends.

Born in Fort Hood, Tx, Valerie moved across the country as an army brat. With her brothers, Mark and Thomas, she explored Texas, Maryland, Hawaii, and California. Her family lived in Salinas, Ca during her teenage years where she graduated from North Salinas High School and met Daniel Rocha, the father of Crissy and Daniel. She would later take computer classes to further her education and met James Potthast at Fort Ord. They welcomed Brittney and Michael shortly after. The family moved to Omaha, Ne where they made countless friends and memories together.

Valerie loved her children, grandchildren, and dogs more than anything else in the world. The only thing comparable in her heart were the Kansas City Chiefs.  She was a massive fan who enjoyed watching the dynasty being formed. She loved to ride on her Harley on warm, sunny days and could be found camping along the river in the summertime. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her.

Please join us for a celebration of her life at Faith Family Church in Omaha, NE, Tuesday, March 26th, at 11:00 am. A small luncheon is to be served after the service.
