Petersen, Velma Vee, Aug 5, 1922 Nov 13, 2010. Born in Lawton, OK. Following graduation from St. Paul High School in 1940, worked in Omaha, then in 1942 moved to Los Angeles, CA to work in defense plants as part of the war effort. Married Wilmer H. Bill Petersen in Grand Island, NE in 1949, together raising a family of 3 sons, Daniel, Daryl and Dale, in Marquette and Ashland, NE until moving to Millard in 1966. A member of Faith Westwood Methodist Church, she participated in the Omaha Christian Women Organization. Vee especially enjoyed her flower gardens, golf, dancing and bridge. Preceded in death by husband Bill in 1992. Survived by sons: Daniel and wife Carol of Argyle, TX, Daryl and wife Mary of Omaha, Dale and wife Sue and grandchildren Dustin and Jennifer, all Omaha; Gayle Petersen, mother of grandchildren Jason and wife Angel, David, and Kevin, all of Omaha; great-grandchildren; Asher, Nina, Jasmin and Charlize. SERVICES Tuesday, 11am, West Center Chapel. Interment, Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, 10am-11am at the West Center Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimers Association.
