Vera J. Jasper

August 8, 1951 – March 14 2024

Memorial Service: Saturday, March 23rd, 10AM at New Hope Apostolic Temple (6124 N 99th St)

Sister Vera Jean Jasper, 71, born in Gould, Arkansas August 8th, 1951, and passed away Thursday, March 14th, 2024, at her home in Omaha, Nebraska after a nearly 5-year illness. She was the 9th child of Mr. James (Jim) Jasper of Tyro, Arkansas, and Zannie (Blue) Jasper of Sugar Lark, Mississippi. Upon graduating high school and technical school, Sister Vera married, and gave birth to her two children Antonio V. E. & Lorenzo LaWayne Moore. Following her divorce, she moved to Omaha, Nebraska in the late 70’s where she and the boys stayed with her sister Geneva and her family for a period. Later, she began her walk with the Lord at Greater Bethlehem Temple and completed her spiritual journey as a humble member servant of New Hope Apostolic Temple, under the leadership of “Her” Pastor & First Lady, the honorable Bishop Lance R. & First Lady Debra Foster and never looked back.  “Jesus is Real”!

While she was proud of always providing for her sons thanks to her 30+ years of employment with HDR and the Cohen family, she was most proud of her sons and of the “marvels” her grandchildren were becoming. Sister Jasper was deeply committed to her Lord & Savior Jesus Christ, her family, and her New Hope Apostolic Temple church family.

Vera was the first person our clients and staff came in contact with at HDR and she was a wonderful person that represented the best of HDR. I always considered her as one of our best representatives of the firm. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends.

Vera was practically the first person I met before I started working at HDR. She answered the company phone and made announcements. I used to call her the voice of HDR. She was a lovely person, very kind and friendly. I’m so glad to have known her.

I met Vera on my first interview to HDR and by the 2nd I brought her jam made from our garden. Couldn’t be a nicer woman to represent a company and her family. Our sincere condolences to her family and friends.

Lou and I were very sorry to learn the passing of one of our favorite people at HDR, Vera Jasper. While Vera was the receptionist, HDR was a welcoming place. We would like her family to know that she improved the day of everyone who met her, and we hope the warmth that Vera radiated to others will extend to them at this difficult time.

Vera was one of my absolute favorite people at HDR. To me, she WAS HDR because hers was the first face you saw and first voice you heard thanks to her running the front desk. She was always professional yet always irrepressibly and irresistibly herself. Sending my deepest condolences to her family. May your memories bring comfort and may she rest in love and light.

To know Vera was to feel a portion of God’s unconditional love on earth. While she will be truly missed, her contagious smile, encouragement & non-judgment of others will forever live in all the hearts of everyone who was honored to know her.

Until we meet again, rest well my dear Omaha Momma! 💜
