Vincent P. “Paul” Quinlan

QUINLAN, Vincent P. “Paul” Jun 29, 1920 – Nov 28, 2013 Paul Quinlan passed away at Maple Crest Care Center in Benson following a long illness. Paul was born on June 29, 1920 in Petersville, Iowa to Vincent and Margaret (née Dolan) Quinlan. As a young boy, Paul moved with his family from eastern Iowa to Omaha, eventually settling in the Cathedral neighborhood. Paul graduated from Cathedral High School and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He graduated from Creighton Law School, where he later was law librarian and taught legal research. Paul met the love of his life, Catherine Mary Marley, and they were married at St. Cecilia Cathedral in 1958. He was devoted to Catherine until her death in 2005. Paul retired after a career with the Federal Government that included clerking for U.S. District Court Judge Richard Robinson and as an attorney for the Federal Communications Commission in Washington, D.C. Following a Federal career he began another in the legal department of Mutual of Omaha from which he retired in 1985. Paul is survived by a brother, Dr. Maurice F. Quinlan; sister, Margaret Mary Coyle; son, Dan; daughter-in-law, Nancy; granddaughters, Elizabeth Parra and Emily Quinlan. VISITATION begins Monday, December 2nd at 5pm at Mary Our Queen Catholic Church, with VIGIL SERVICE to follow at 6:30pm at the church. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL Tuesday, December 3rd at 10am at Mary Our Queen Church. Interment, Calvary Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Mary Our Queen Catholic Church.
