Virginia Hume Farber

December 6, 1933 – February 16, 2020

 

Born in Omaha, NE, to Robert and Ida Hume.  In addition to her parents, “Ginnie” was preceded in death by her husband, C.B. “Chi” Farber; and sisters, Dorothy Dinsmore and Marion Dalton.  Survived by children, Phil Farber (Cindy) and Nancy Curran (Tim); granddaughters, Kelly Rinehart (Brandon) and Ashley Vanderheiden (Grant); step grandson, Jay Svoboda (Melissa); three great-grandchildren, Natalie and Emily Rinehart and Kruz Vanderheiden; brothers-in-law, James W. Dinsmore (Vicki) and H.J. “Jerry” Dalton (Carolyn); and sister-in-law, Carol Farber; and many nieces and nephews.  The family wishes to express its gratitude for the kind and loving care their mother received from the nurses and staff at Azria-Gretna Community Living Center and Hillcrest Hospice Care.

She was a 65 year member of PEO Chapter CV and member of the Great Plains Pilgrimage Community since 2011.  While living on her farm outside Brainard, she raised miniature donkeys and was an avid quilter and member of the Holy Trinity Quilters group.

    Ginnie was appreciated and loved very much, A True Friend that always was there when you needed her to listen to your problems and was also happy when you were happy. She will be missed alot by this family and never forgotten,
