Virginia L. Kuhl

August 21, 1934 – November 23, 2020

Virginia L. Kuhl born August 21, 1934 passed away peacefully on November 23, 2020.  She was born in Eagle Grove, Iowa to Bert and Beatrice Roseland.  At a young age her family moved to Omaha, NE where Virginia attended Central High School.  After graduation she worked for Mutual of Omaha and later as a transcriptionist for two local doctor’s offices.

Virginia and Barry met at the youth group at church.  They were married on October 9, 1954 at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church.  They have three children, four grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Virginia enjoyed bible study, volunteering at various organizations, knitting, cooking, playing cards, having coffee and lunch with friends, helping at church functions and caring for her family.  For several years Virginia and Barry hosted the family Thanksgiving dinner at their home where many fond memories were created.  This was always a special event for her.  Virginia loved all types of sports, particularly Husker football, basketball, baseball and volleyball.  An annual favorite was the College World Series.  She started a tradition with her kids and grandchildren to attend the opening day together and then go to as many games as possible.  Her sister Judy came to town often to attend these games with her which were very special times for them.

Virginia was a loving wife, mother and grandma.  She loved life, her family and friends.  She will be truly missed by all who knew her and loved her.

Virginia is survived by her brother, George Roseland (Joan); daughter, Lori Baldwin (Alan); son, Rob Kuhl (Lisa); grandchildren: Tyler Kuhl, Emily Wiemers (Terran), Brooklyn Baldwin and Ashley Bush (Corey); along with several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Barry; son Gordon; parents, Bert and Beatrice Roseland; brothers, John Roseland and David Roseland; sister, Judy Lawler; sister-in-law, Phyllis Roseland; and brother-in-law, George Lawler.

My mom told me of Barry and Virgina’s passing. I am heartbroken for you Rob and Lori. I know this – I was at a loss many years ago – foolish choices cause great loss. They were such wonderful people. I’m so sorry for your loss.
