MEMORIAL SERVICE: Saturday, February 10th at 11am at Lighthouse Baptist Church, 3919 Greene Ave. in Bellevue, with VISITATION from 9am to 11am at the church. Interment at a later date, Utterback Cemetery in Riverton, IA.
Virginia Lee Overton, 71, of Bemidji, MN, passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, in Grand Rapids, MN, after a prolonged illness. She was born May 28, 1952, in Nebraska City, NE, and was the oldest of three children. In 1968 the family moved to Omaha, NE, where Virginia graduated from South High School in 1970. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Ermal and Joan Overton, and sister, Erma Joan Overton. She is survived by son, Shane Overton (Tina) of Bemidji, MN; brother, Michael Overton (Mary); nephew, Christopher Overton (Lisa); nieces, Heather Overton and Kayleigh Overton Orr (Matt); great nieces and nephews; aunts, Virginia Storm and Pat Davis (John); and many cousins.
Virginia loved adventures, traveling and all the wildlife animals that would frequent the grounds of her home, especially in the winter months in Minnesota. She lived her life to the fullest and only to her satisfaction, and no one else’s. She loved the Lord and knew that he took care of her and guided her on the paths she chose each and every day. She loved her family and made sure when she talked to you, she ended with, “I love you.” Virginia will be forever missed and cherished but never forgotten. She has left us with so many memories and stories to tell.
Visitation will be on Saturday, February 10, 2024, 9:00am-11:00am with the Funeral Service beginning at 11:00am at Lighthouse Baptist Church, 3919 Greene Avenue, Bellevue, NE. Memorials will be directed by the family.
