Virginia Reimann of Papillion, Nebraska passed peacefully on the morning of Sunday, May 26th due to complications from a stroke suffered in the weeks prior.

Virginia was born in Mountain Lake, Minnesota to parents Ben and Ferne Goring on July 15, 1948. She spent her childhood on a farm in Minnesota with her three siblings. Virginia knew at a very young age she wanted to be an elementary school teacher. She graduated from Martin Luther College in New Ulm, Minnesota with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, later going on to acquire a Master’s Degree. Over the course of her 35-year career, she taught more than 600 students.

On June 21, 1975 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Darfur, Minnesota, Virginia was married to Harold Reimann. They were engaged after only a two-week courtship. They would be celebrating 44 years of marriage this month.

As the director of social ministry for First Lutheran Church, she was very active in her church and the community. Virginia lived her life in a loving and compassionate way. She never looked for recognition. She put the needs of others high above her own and did so even in her final hours. The things she did for others reflected her love for Jesus and she lived her life based on his teachings. Virginia was not afraid of death; instead she welcomed being embraced by Jesus in Heaven.

Virginia will be deeply missed by her husband, Harold Reimann; daughter, Jessica; son, Scott; brothers, Duane and Darrell Goring; sister, Beverly Burton; and grandsons, Silas and Nieko.

Ginny touched my heart in so many ways. She was one of the most beautiful Christian women I’ve ever known. We cried and laughed together so many times. She will be missed very deeply, though I know she is right which is supposed to be – with Jesus, and I will see her again someday. Until then, my beautiful friend.

    Dear Reimann,
We heard about your mom’s stroke and have had her in our prayers. Can’t help but think about how blessed you were to have had her in your lives as long as you did (never long enough) with all of her health issues. She was always such a positive person…a good life lesson for all of us. Definitely one of Jesus lambs.

    Harold and family
Grief ,I’ve learned ,is really just love. It’s al the love you want to give but cannot. All of that unspent love gathers up in the corners of your eyes, the lump in your throat, and in that hollow part of your chest Grief is love with no place to go.
Sending love and prayers to all of you.
