SWANSON, Walter D., III, Oct 24, 1950 – Jan 12, 2010. What a ride! Walter D. Swanson III took his final ride on Jan 12, 2010. Loving husband, father, papa, son, brother, steamfitter, motorcycle rider, music and puzzle lover, hunter, fisherman, and master tinkerer will be dearly missed by all. Always a quick wit and ready with a joke, smile or story. Walt is survived by his wife, JoEllen Swanson; son and wife, Jason and Heather Swanson; daughter, husband and family: Julie, Chris, Grace, Lucy and Sam Vollmuth; father and mother, Walt Jr. and Bessie Swanson; sisters, Elizabeth Pepper and Lynnette Olson. SERVICES Saturday, 11am, Kountze Memorial Lutheran Church, 2650 Farnam St. The family will receive friends Friday, 5pm-8pm at the West Center Chapel. Memorials may be directed to the family.
