William F. Koehler

KOEHLER, William F. Feb 14, 1922 – Jan 5, 2013 Council Bluffs, Iowa; born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Mr. Koehler served in the Navy from 1941-1947. He enjoyed writing poetry and received a number of awards for his poems, several of which have been published. He was interested in medical literature and in later years his family felt he had missed a calling to the medical profession. He is remembered for the pleasure he found in helping others. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty. He is survived by four children and spouses: Stephen Koehler (Suzy), Stephanie Hlavacek (Kenneth), Lora Wells (Lee), and Lisa Borst (George); 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. In the spring, a CELEBRATION OF LIFE gathering will be held in Mr. Koehler’s honor in Milwaukee.
