William Ferrand

William Ferrand
February 15, 1930 – June 15, 2021

Born in Kansas City, Missouri to William Ferrand and Lillian (Lambert) Ferrand.  When William was 3 years old, he moved to Stromsburg, Nebraska and attended school there and graduated in May, 1948.  On June 28, 1948, William entered the US Navy and served on the USS Turner in the Mediterranean during the Korean War.  He was discharged in June 1952.

On August 9, 1959, William married Glennis Widga at Polk, Nebraska.  They lived in Omaha, Nebraska.  William was employed as a horticulturalist for the City of Omaha and was responsible for the supervision of the planting of flowers for all the city parks in Omaha.  William was a member of Presbyterian Church of the Cross in Omaha.  He and his wife also worked tirelessly for the Muscular Dystrophy Foundation through the ESA Sorority.

William and Glennis had no children of their own, but they were loved and cared for by their nieces and nephews.  William is survived by Syd Widga (Patty), Gail Ortegren (Larry), Mary Jo Falter (Tom), and Richard Widga; cousins; and many friends.  He was preceded in death by wife, Glennis; mother, Lillian.

GRAVESIDE SERVICES: Monday, June 28th at 2pm at the Stromsburg Cemetery.
