ASHLEY, William H. “Bill” Jan 4, 1937 Jun 30, 2014 Bill Ashley passed away on June 30, 2014 at the Rose Blumkin Jewish Home. Services were held on July 3, 2014 at Temple Israel Cemetery in Omaha, followed by a Memorial Service at Temple Israel. Bill is survived by his wife of 28 years, Joyce Ashley; daughters, Jill Ashley-Grochowski (Jason) and Julie Ashley (Jim Prohaska); son, David Rosen; grandchildren: Drew, Cole, Brynn, and Zevin; sisters, Judi Pugsley and Joy Borchman; brother, John Ashley (Judy); other beloved family members too numerous to mention by name. Bill graduated from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, NE, where he was President of Phi Kappa Psi. A Captain in the Army National Guard, Bill was the owner of Crest Petroleum Corp., CFM Marketing Systems, Inc. (Convenient Food Mart Franchise), and Suds City Carwashes, and Bushy Johns. He was co-owner of Omaha Ice Co. and Crestwood Shops. He was a past District Governor of Rotary International and past President of Suburban Rotary, Nebraska Petroleum Marketers, Omaha Oilmans Club, and Nebraska Grocery Industry Association. Bill served on the Board of Directors for the following organizations: Petroleum Marketers of America, United AG, Omaha Safety Council, UNO Maverick Hockey Blue Line Club, Omaha Hockey Hall of Fame, Omaha Symphony Mens Council, PTA, and Youth for Understanding. Bill was service oriented locally and internationally in numerous organizations. He hosted several exchange students who became members of his family. Memorials may be made to: Temple Israel; Beth El Synagogue; Suburban Rotary Charitable Foundation; or the Rose Blumkin Home.
