Zacary C. Zagozda
January 27, 1998 – June 11, 2020
Zacary Charles Zagozda, of Omaha, was born on January 27, 1998 in Atlanta, GA and died on June 11, 2020. Zacary graduated from Creighton Prep in 2016. He was a loving son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend to many. His upbeat personality and sense of humor was infectious. Zacary loved baseball. He was a pitcher for Creighton Prep / a UNO recruit AKA “The lefty pitcher whose cap always fell off”. He had been a referee/umpire for several years with Metro Umpires.
Preceded in death by his grandparents Casey and Theresa Sturek, and Ray “RZ” Zagozda; uncles Paul Zagozda and Jack Corbaley; cousin Brian Zagozda.
Survived by his parents Chuck and Julie; sisters Emma and Megan; grandmother Dorothy Zagozda; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Visitation Monday 5:00 p.m. with Vigil Service 7:00 p.m. West Center Chapel. Funeral Mass Tuesday 10:00 a.m. St. Gerald Catholic Church (96th and Q). Entombment Resurrection Cemetery Mausoleum. Memorials will be directed by the family to establish a baseball scholarship fund in Zacary’s name. We are so sad to hear of Zac’s passing. You are in our thoughts and prayers. We will always remember our carpool for Prep baseball with Zac , Evan, and our Zach before they all could drive.. Our deepest condolences ,and may God comfort you all at this difficult time.

Dear Chuck, Julie, Emma, and Megan, my heart goes out to you and my prayers are for you to feel God’s loving arms around you during this difficult time. I loved Zac like a son and will always remember the many good times he and Brett shared and all the laughs he brought to our lives. He is now bringing that joy to heaven with him to share with the angels. Love you all so much!

Had the pleasure of meeting Zac my first day at Buildertrend as we started on the same day. We hit it off instantly, ate lunch together as we didn’t know anyone else. Zac was such an awesome guy and he always had good energy and a big smile whenever I ran into him at the office. He will be missed and my heart goes out to his family, you are all in my prayers. RIP Zac !!
Dear Zagozda family, I did not have the pleasure of meeting Zac, but I can tell his smile lit up the world. It is obvious he left a lasting impression on everyone he met, and will never be forgotten. RIP Zac!
