Zachary Fochek, 22, of Omaha, NE, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 30, 2023. He was born on April 12, 2000, to Rebecca and Jason Fochek in Omaha.

Zach was a light in so many people’s lives and brought so much joy to everyone he knew. He had many friends, and anyone that met him knew how great of a person Zach was and how much love he had for everyone. Zach loved the game of soccer and spent his early childhood and teen years playing and making memories with his teammates. Zach was also an avid shoe collector who loved and adored his three kitties. He most recently started a new career in something he was passionate about, computer programming.

In 2021, Zach met the love of his life and best friend, Eden. He and Eden shared a short but beautiful life and experienced so many great things together as a couple. They got the opportunity to travel together and loved eating Sushi and Cheesecake Factory cheesecake. Zach was also the rock to his mom Rebecca, with whom they shared many amazing memories throughout the years. They laughed together, cried together, and spent countless hours cheering on their favorite soccer teams together.

In the last couple of years, Jason and Zach enjoyed the grind of buying and selling on eBay together. Zach was very intelligent with technology and mechanically inclined. He could fix just about anything with little research or watching a YouTube video. During Covid, Jason and Zach even cut each other’s hair, which usually didn’t turn out the best. Zach also loved his sister Carolyn dearly, and they made so many memories together throughout their childhood. After Carolyn left for college a few years ago, they continued to keep in touch, helped support each other, and shared great milestones of what was going on in each of their lives.

Zach was preceded in death by his grandma Carol Whyte; grandpa Alan Fochek; great-grandparents: Frank and Dorthy Fochek, Carl and Joann Martens, and Norm Canaday.

He is survived by his parents: Rebecca Fochek-Kennedy, Jason Fochek and girlfriend Amanda Heiden; sister Carolyn Fochek; fiancé Eden Venteicher; grandparents Bill and Donna Whyte; aunts and uncles: Christy (Kane) Kuhn, John (Jenn) Whyte, Josue (Katie) Fochek, Amanda (Nate) Ruh; along with many cousins: Laynie and Mason Kuhn, Lexi and Alison Whyte, Noah, and Haylie and Chloe Fochek, Maci and Hadlee and Jocie Ruh.

Rest in Paradise, Zachary, until we meet again.

Sunrise on 4/12/2000 and Sunset on 3/30/2023.
