Colleen Ann Zender May 20, 1926 – March 14, 2015 Colleen Ann Zender (Mrs Z), age 88, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2015 embraced by family. She was born on May 20, 1926 in Omaha. She was one of six children born to John and Gloria (Gibson) Martin. She married Ralph Bud Zender in Omaha in 1951 and they had five daughters. Colleen lived every day of her 88 years with dignity and compassion. She had a zest for life that was obvious to all who knew her. She will be remembered and cherished for many things, from her story telling to her jokes to the gatherings around her card table and her dining table. Most of all she will be remembered for her devotion to God, her family and her friends. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Bud; daughters: Cyndi (Jim) OHare of West Des Moines, Iowa, Connie (Stephen) Ames of Columbus, Nebraska; Kathryn Anne (Bill) Jurgensen and Lori Shields, all of Omaha, son-in-law, Denny Berigan of Charlotte, North Carolina; nineteen favorite grandchildren: Kevin, Kelly, Ryan, Sean, Erin, Ashley, Shawn, Nicholas, Kathleen, Ryan, Karlyn, Mallory, Hayley, Will, Connor, Matthew, Patrick, Stefen and Michael; thirteen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Carolyn (Paul) Erhart of Springfield, Nebrasla, and her brother Jerry (Debbie) Martin of Caldwell, Idaho; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Tere Berigan; her brothers, Jack and Jim; and her sister, Catherine Kay Ciafullo. A CELEBRATION of Colleens life will be held at St Leo the Great Catholic Church on Thursday, March 19th at 7pm, followed by a dessert reception in the parish social hall. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Assistance League of Omaha, Marian High School, Table Grace or Peaceful Preludes. There will be no visitation before the Memorial Service. Visitation with the family will be after the Memorial Service at the reception.
