Michael Christopher Romeo

September 16, 1985 – September 24, 2025

Michael Christopher Romeo was born on September 16, 1985 to Christine (Sorensen) and Robert Romeo. On September 24, 2025, Michael perfected his “Irish goodbye” and joined his heavenly family.

Since Michael grew up on the family’s farm near Missouri Valley, Iowa, he was known in childhood as the Mo Valley Monster, Michael matured into the beloved Uncle Mo. He inspired the famous “Uncle Mo Answer Your Phone” ringtone to the delight of his beloved niece and nephews who so enjoyed using him as a human jungle gym at every birthday party, holiday celebration, and family gathering.

Michael was a devoted computer nerd, hunter, and Jenga cheat. He was a fixture at Paulie’s where he practiced his Keno skills while living the Omaha version of Cheers. As a devoted cat dad, Michael spoiled Sid and Sam who will be lovingly cared for by his cousins.

Michael’s kind heart, goofy smiles, and camera avoidance will forever be missed by his family. Michael was preceded in death by his grandparents: Dominic “Don” and Martha (Woodson) Romeo and Dcn. Kurt and Jean (McNamara) Sorensen.

He is survived by parents, Robert (Amy) Romeo and Christine (Patrick) Hamilton; brother, Dominic (Michelle) Romeo; brother, Robert “RJ” (Lauren Spahn) Romeo; sisters, Michelle (Jake West) Romeo, Riviera Romeo; stepsister, Wendy Hamilton; stepsister, Becky (Bryan) Scherbring; nephews: Charlie, Giovanni, William, Rico, and Wyatt; niece, Jocelyn; and his loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Please join Michael’s family in celebrating an amazing man who leaves behind an incredible legacy of kindness, unbreakable passcodes, and love.

Visitation: Thursday, October 2nd, from 5-7pm at West Center Chapel with time to Share Memories at 7pm.

Mass of Christian Burial: Friday, October 3rd, 10:30am at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church (14330 Eagle Run Drive).

Interment: Resurrection

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to Creighton Prep for a scholarship to be established in Michael’s memory.

Michael and I (along with his brother Dom) worked at CoSentry together. He was always the best person to work with. He gave a lot of sarcasm and wit in everything he did, but when it came down to it, he took care of those around him. I am so sorry for your loss. I’m sending all the love and prayers for your comfort.
