Jane Kirchner

July 27, 1938 – April 5, 2023

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our dear mother Jane Kirchner, born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on July 27, 1938, and born to eternal life on April 5, 2023.

She was a devoted wife, wonderful mother, and friend to all who she met. Jane loved her grandchildren dearly, was a talented cook and baker, made crafts for many of her family and friends, and enjoyed playing cards with friends. Later in life, she was a frequent traveler to see family and visited Alaska, Canada, London, Ireland, and the Panama Canal. She had many friends and was a well-loved member of the Omaha community.

Jane, beloved wife of the late Leonard Kirchner, and is survived by her loving children: Michael (Kerri) and their children, David and Daniel, Omaha; Ann, (Howard) and their children Maggie and Matthew, of Minneapolis, Minnesota; and Paul (Amy) and their children Claire and Jessica, of Winter Park, Florida. Dear sister of Richard Dallesasse (Mary) and remembered by her nephew Scott and niece Jill. She loved and touched all of us deeply.

Please join us in celebrating her life. A visitation will be held at Heafey Hoffman Dworak & Cutler, 7805 West Center, Omaha, Nebraska, on Friday, April 14th, from 5-7pm. Funeral services on April 15th, at 10:30am at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church 14330 Eagle Run Drive, Omaha, Nebraska 68164, with a reception immediately following.

As an expression of sympathy honoring Jane, memorial donations may be made to the University of Nebraska Cancer “Research Fund for Advancements and Pancreatic Cancer” – the fund supports the mission of the UNMC Fred & Pamela Buffett cancer center to discover better ways to diagnose, treat, and prevent pancreatic cancer.
